Educating the Whole Child:
Mind, Body and Spirit.
Dear St. James the Apostle Community,
First and foremost, I would love to thank the community for giving me the opportunity to serve as Principal of St. James the Apostle Catholic School. I look forward to continuing the commitment to our mission of academic excellence, community values, and inspiring our students to have a strong faith-based education.
I am honored to join your campus and bring a lifetime of experiences that have helped guide me both professionally and spiritually. My parents laid the foundation for my Catholic faith throughout my life and inspired me to pursue my education to teach and work with students who came from similar beginnings. Working as a migrant for most of my childhood, I witnessed a life of hardship and poverty that only continued to inspire my Catholic faith and my desire to teach others. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and English from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas and my Master’s degree in Administration at Concordia University in Austin, Texas. I have been married to my husband for 26 wonderful years and have 4 children. I am also a parishioner and belong to the community of St. Claire’s Catholic Church for the last 7 years. I come from an extensive career in education where I have served in multiple roles as an Assistant Principal, Master Teacher, ELA Department Chair, athletic coach, and ELAR teacher. I am excited to combine my strong desire for academic excellence and my commitment to the Catholic faith to inspire and cultivate the students of St. James the Apostle with strong virtues in Catholic education.
With the support of our community, I am thankful and honored to be serving as the next principal of St. James the Apostle Catholic School. I look forward to getting to know you all throughout my amazing journey as your principal.
Sincerely,
Theresa Aguilar
Principal
